I have my bike 93 1500 at the shop and they have found a air leak, its described as the boot between both carbs the boots has cracked with age. anyone else had this problem. :clapper:

hi hay hay thats the isolators were the carbs join onto the manafold will also make the bike run not to good common enough prob but they will have to remove the carbs to fix this can cost a few bucks for the labour

I hope your bike was running like crap, and hope that is why you put your bike in the shop.

Those isolators will get hard and brittle over time. I wish I replaced mine when I had them off but I did not. So far, I have not had a problem. If and when the carbs come off again, they will be replaced.

I installed a 97 carb but used my old 88 isolators.:headbanger: :doh: At the time, I was more concerned with diagnostics than preventative maintenance.

That is a lot of work just two replace them two rubber pieces.
