:waving:I am asking all Oregon riders to weigh in here. I am curious how many there are, with an eye on a possible "all oregon get together and ride"possibly around Labor Day.

We might even consider adding our buddies from Washington, too.

Any interest?
There at least three Oregon riders that I know of...

Can't make a guarantee, but it might be doable.

Small world... got hold of a 1975 a couple of months ago and I am loving it.

I also just found this board, and am glad to seemembers that are so close by...

Just a few more things to correctbefore I would be confident of taking it out on a road trip...

Welcome to the board Thomas. The '75 is a good bike - first year of the Goldwing! I have a '77 that I bought as a basket case - it's running great now.

Thanks for the welcome...

I find it interesting that the Goldwing community seems so willing to share their experiences, the "ties that bind" I suppose, common love and passion.

For what it's worth, the frame # is 1653... so in a way I feel like a batton has been passed with all the rights of passage involved. When I got it, it was running but a little rough... So I started visiting some of the communities and reading the adivse and wisdom from other "Wingers" and decided to look at the timing belts just to be certain thatbase was solid... shock... the right side belt was almost totaly worn away, and the cam pulley bent, with a broken back cover plate. So off to the local salvage yard for some parts.. replaced it all and new belts and cover gaskets.. adjusted valves, new plugs, and tweeked the points... WOW.. the only other thing that concerns me now is the coils should be replaced.. old and short wires..

So, it was the 'spirit' of the Wing community, and listening to what they had to say that made the difference between an old wing still running, or something that would have turned to toast... thank you all for your willingness to offer such wisdom to newbees...

By Labor Day, it should be running fine, and I would enjoy meeting some fellow wingnuts ... so tentatively yes... I will follow this thread with interest...

If you would consider someone from up here in the banana belt (Sequim, WA.) I may be able to go. I want to do some short rides like that before I do a really long one.

Any ideas where, and when? Coast, maybe, or one of the lakes, where camping is going to be cheaper. How about Diamond Lake? Lots of spaces.

Diamond Lake is WONDERFUL! I have spent a few anniversaries there, and that is real close to the anni time. Definite possibilities...

Diamond Lake sounds great! Some great riding in that neighborhood... and Crater Lake National Park is just a few miles away. I know of some hot springs and great waterfall hikes nearby too.

I just Mapquested Diamond Lake. It's about 670 miles north of us. So, how about guys and gals from California, is the invitation open? My wife and I need a vacation REALLY REALLY bad and plan on a trip to Eureka, CA. Early September would be doable for us. It would be a beautful addition to come up to Diamond Lake and meet you all. Regards, Peter

Peter, that would be great!

My wife is so excited she is packing the bags as we speak. Let's see, September 5 is approximately 2 1/2 months away, so we will be living out of bags for that length of time.

If I get some information regarding campgrounds together, can y'all deal with pdf files? I can send them, or post them or something...
