Can anyone help please A friend visiting fron western australia was informed by the local Honda Shop (they dont know much about Goldwings) that the Stator was burnt out and the Engine has to be removed to change .
is this correct
the Bike is a goldwing aspencade 1200 (i dont know the year )
i believe that is correct but they make a "poorboy" kit that might be better.try a search in the search box or look on the A-Z on the right side of the screen
you should pull the motor, remove the rear cover, install a new stator, or like I did, keep going, and take a year and a half to put the motor back together again.
Ended up pulling mine twice, first stator was bad from factory, :doh:I got good at it too! Just remember to snip off the connector and hard wire the whole mess

Stator issues are the biggest downside to the 1200's.
