Hi,

I bought a 1992 Goldwing SE with 53K on it. I am thinking of installing a new Compu-Fire alternator on it to handle the Gerbing clothing I have (jacket liner, gloves and pants). But this bike has been really taken care of and has had a lot of upgrades. Is there a way I can tell if the alternator in the bike is stock or a Compu-Fire?

Take off the left engine cover. If it is, you will see it written on the side of the alternator.

I was not sure of that because when I went to Compu-Fire's website they show one installed but I did not see a name on the side of it in the photo.

EDIT
After looking around I see it is a hitachi LR140-708. Is that the stock alternator?
