Once I bought the bike, I really didnt start riding in earnest for a month. Say May 25th is the date I started riding. At that point it had 30,100 miles. Today, you can see the mileage was 33,333.33 part way home from work. Its a sight I just had to capture... I know-silly of me...:cheeky1:

Anyhooo... If you do the math, Bargoyle was ridden an average of only 1200 miles over the first 25 years.

I have ridden at a pace of 15,000 a year, and thats just evenings and weekends. Guess who's having fun?!?!?

Glad to see the speedo was at "0" when you took that pic...

Yeah, it was something I was watching for. I pulled off the highway just for that pic. Theoretically, every combination of numbers on a speedo only comes just once, like the pic I took, but the uniformity of all threes is cool.

I was displaying somewhere in the triple-digit speed one time and the OCD part of me wanted to take a pic and message it to Rodent with my cell phone. Common sense won out that time.

I wonder why they call it "common" sense when it is so uncommon?

Was that the middle 3 digits? Just over the three digits?

I think the fastest I have EVER gone on any bike was just under 90. In my lifetime I have bounced off a dashboard at 60, and feel pretty confident that I dont want to experience a similar event on a bike.

I believe it was about 117, but I'm not incriminating, er, committing myself to anything...

I scare myself silly, everytime I take my bike on the motorway, my fairly recently aquired 1500 is a Canadian import, and I have no problem reaching 3didgets, but I look down and see 160 and I panic, cuz I am not metric minded!!!!:goofygrin:Tends to keep me on the safe side of the speed limit though, we have loads of speed cameras and I crawl through built up areas, probably doing about 20mph!

It's the metric clocks that throw me, I have a hard time when I drive up to Vancouver B.C. just can't get used to those 100 minute hours and 10 hour days.

If you split those 3's into pairs it's "666", Ah forget I said that!:baffled:

Hey, if we're going there, maybe we need another kind of "deer" alert...

Its amazing that my bike survived long enough for me to find it. I was destined to have it in my care. I suppose I should tell the bike "Sorry I am late"!

I look at, and long for, newer nicer bikes. But at the same time, I am absolutely ecstatic knowing I can ride a solid, nice looking bike, and have the fun of riding without the expense of a newer bike.

You do however have the honor of riding a real classic! And a damned good looking example!

I average about 110 miles/day with the commute I do between my two jobs. Then I hit the road on the weekends when I can. 784.3/week is more close for me at least.
