Another question about my GL1800, speaker grille removal

956 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  GWNorman
I need to get the screen off to mount and wire my Sat Nav and I have all the instructions but have fallen at the first hurdle
Is there a trick to getting the front speaker grills off :?
Is there some special tool or a special place to use to lever them up

Many thanks

What bike is this?
I think it must be his 2006 GL1800, he mentioned it in another thread.

If it is a 2006-10 model, the speaker grilles come off when you remove the whole meter panel. The forum has an article and a video showing how to do this:

That was brilliant thanks
no wonder I had problems, the manual I have must be for an older model and it tells me it was bolted in
On 2001-2005 models the grilles pop out. From 2006-2010 the meter panel has to be removed, which as you can see in the video is easy to do.
I'm not sure about 2012 models.
