I just HAD to get a picture of this before tearing it down!

This is a Saber Cycle gasket.

The material on the face of the gasket actually separated and pushed out!
Not until zooming into the pic at the computer did I see this.

It kinda looks like the head was not completely tight.
I got a few thousand miles out of it before this happened, I checked the torque was good before removing and it hadnt been overheated so I dont think so but I will be checking the head for warpage etc.

BTW, I was not getting any of the tell tale signs of a blown head gasket, just this squirt.

Nice catch Dan and thanks for the Picture.

Hopefully another Nail in the Coffin that should be for Saber Cycles.

Good Luck to ya Pal.

OK, ok. I see it. I have heard of numerous complaints about their gaskets, and this is more confirmation. That said, I would not use any engine related parts from them. I would, however use any hard to find parts for the older wings. I've done it in the past, as have others, with no problems.

My front wheel bearing came from them, because they beat my dealer's price and delivery. The brand is AllBalls, BTY, same thing my dealer finally delivered a week later.

No way would I use gaskets, repair kits or any other parts related to engine/carb.

Visual proof goes a lot farther with me, than word of mouth. I tend to avoid jumping on the band wagons, based on that. Except maybe with NASCAR drivers. Just sayin'

Thanks Dan! :waving:
