Hi. I've just taken delivery of an 83 Aspencade (naked / std ). A couple of small probs are apparent. firstly, handle bars are bent. Secondly, one rear shock is leaking oil. Seems an easy enough fix, but the third is that the front forks seem really stiff like there no rebound, but when I pulled off my driveway they bottomed out ! SoI used the compressor to up the pressure, which worked but the forks seem almost solid in operation. My question (finally) is, is this normal and what are the 4 settings on the anti dive housing. looks like the screw head is used to change the setting, but I have no operating manual for the bike yet. Anyone help please ??:?:?:(

On the anti-dive settings, no. 1 is soft and 4 is the hardest setting. Sounds like the forks need a fluid change and fill up to specs.

Thanks Bagmaster. I'll be doing afork oil change as a matter of course in the next week or so, and renewing the air lines to both front forks as they're perished and cracked. I have the workshop manuals for the bike but am missing the operating manual that would have been delivered with the bike. Happy days tho'. I've been out for about 50 miles today and all is well! Coming into the workshop now for a week or two for general service and tidy up....maybe then get some photos up...oh yeah ...and getting rid of some of the rails, cases, chrome, badges and bolt ons....I like emnaked !!:1000yellow::D
