I read somewhere on here what to look out for in buying anti-freeze. No Phos. and no silica.... Correct???? Would Dex-Cool the red stuff used in GMC vehicles work??? It has none of those ingrediants....?????? Or GO GREEN .:D

Dexcool may be OK but I wouldn't use it myself. If you do flush the system thoroughly. Dexcool and ethylene glycol don't like each other. There are other alternatives like genuine Honda coolant from a Honda car dealer, pricey but good stuff.

Wondering if you can use prestone or another brand from a local parts store?
Mine needs to be changed also.

Peak Long Life is gaining acceptance as well for a no phosphate or silicate product.

(FWIW, I'm not a fan of DexCool -- Class-action law-suit is not going well against GM for that flying mess !)

Prestone and Peak extended life 50/150 both are silicate free. If you have another brand you wonder about check their website. Most of the manufacturers will tell you there even if they don't on the jug.
