antifreeze leak above cyl head

when i had my left side cover off, I noticed something wet on top of my cyl head, it looked like antifreeze and smells like antifreeze. I was wandering if there was any hoses above the head. Does anyone know what to look for. or where to begin to find out where it is coming from. Has anybody else had this trouble.

There are several hoses on 1800s and word is the clamps require tightening after a while. Why they didn't use spring clamps like the cars, which almost never leak, I don't know.
