Any help on Honda shadow forks???

I know this is not exactly appropriate, but I tried the Shadow forum and found very little and since I have been around here a while I figured I could get away with it.

I am trying to help my friend with the 2003 750 Shadow A.C.E. that I gave him when I bought my first Wing. The fork seals are leaking and so far I would say the Wing forks are way easier to get off. If anyone has experience I would really appreciate some help.

It appears as though you have to remove these chrome fork covers to get the forks off, and too do that it is unimaginable. The windshield, headlight assembly, handle bars, upper brace and all that goes with removing that, then you can undo the bolts that hold the upper chrome cover and pull it off from the top. I guess then you can undo the lower cover, probably the pinch bolts, remove the caps and pull the lower tubes off. It seems very extreme to me so any opinions or thoughts would be helpful

Pull the front tire, front fender, brake caliper and then loosen the bolts at the upper and lower steering clamps. The chrome covers should be able to stay where they are while you pull out the fork tubes. You might need to spray some lubricant around the rubber bushings in the chrome covers to aid in removal and reinstallation. I haven't pulled an ACE apart before but it looks easy enough on the parts diagram.
