Somone on craigslist is selling a 1986 Interstate with 35K miles for 1000.00 The body is in excellent shape with new tires, brakes, battery. Now, he was selling it previously and let a potential buyer try it in his yard. Well sure enough the guy slowly put it down in the grass with the throttle wide open now. Next thing he said he heard a bink or something like that and now it won:t run. Any ideas off hand what could have happened?

Heard a bink. To my mind that sounds like breaking metal maybe carb related or maybe evena chain in the engine. Not sure but someone will be by in a little who can give you a better idea.

think maybe he dumped the carb gas into cylinders , before the bank angle sensore shut it off. just a guess. need more info---like , will it turn over by hand with the pluges out ?

Somethin' broke. I don't think it's worth a grand if it won't run.

My guess would be the bink was when the piston hit the valves after the belt broke on one side .:(

From that description, I wouldn't even hazard a guess. Not enough data, or accurate description of current condition.

It does sound like Mr. Potential Buyer bought himself a motorcycle, though.

Leason learned!!! I know alot of folks won't let a potential buyer ride a bike that is for sale. Should have given buyer a ride or watched the owner ride it.
Just my two cents.
