I have seen another crash test where they had a Smart Car at 70mph into a concrete barricade...You could still open both doors without using a "Jaws Of Life"....But....They also pointed out while the passenger compartment was still intact that no one would have survived that crash....Even in a bigger car.....I don't know how fast these two cars were going but it did make a mess of that Smart Car......Even if the frontal damage didn't kill you, did you notice the way that the Smart car was thrown to the right???? This means that if it were 4 lanes of traffic the Smart car would have flown into the cars in the far right hand lane.......Too bad if the next vehicle in the far right lane would be a semi rig......Yeah give me a Wing any day.....

Want to try a head on with a goldwing ?

I dont . Id rather be in that car if it has to happen to me .

Did you notice the "cabin " stays intact ? If both drivers had not been on there cell phones there would not have been an offset crash . :cheeky1: Its rated highly in crash testing .Smart car gets highest score in crash tests - Autos- msnbc.com NO I dont own one .

I didn't see any crashbags go off in either car, should have deployed

That 'G force' of deceleration though can't be good for you.

The bags deployed in the Smart - take another look.

My sister drives one of those. She thinks it's the cat's pyjamas. I think it's a roller skate.....:cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1:

Glad I'm not responding to car crashes anymore. jimsjinx

I think if the smart car had been a wing, you could have avoided the whole thing by leaning right...... :cheeky1:

UMM think I will keep my wing thanks. Mercedes actually makes the Smart car too.

A friend of mine, fellow motorcyclist, and manager at one of the large insurance companies, sent me this:

Now how terrifying is that and especially if you drive a Smart Car. Just does not look so smart from this vantage point.I have to wonder how many people were in there?

There was a crash just like that here at an off ramp from I-20 involving two semi's and a full sized van. The results were the same.

2 construction vehicles weighing tons on busy public road, wouldn't really matter what your in. Your screwed in this position unless your in a construction vehicle yourself or tank.
