Hello all,
This site is awesome and I was hoping to pick your brains. I live in a campus town and I am trying to attach my helmet to my bike when I am away. I have a naked 78' gl1000 with the stock helmet latches under the seat, however, my helmet uses a chin strap that does not incorporate the “D” ring. (Schuberth C2) I have though about a steel mesh perhaps, but could that be tied into the bikes latch? Thanks in advance.

Just buy a large keyring for a few cents and loop that onto your chinstrap. You can then attach the keyring to the helmet holder.

Problem is punk kids take their pocket knife and cut the strap and take the helmet for kicks!:baffled:

:shock: No wonder they outlawed guns in Canada!:shock:

Anyone tough enough to chew guns doesn't need a gun! :weightlifter::gunhead:

Hehe glad you have a sense of humour!

What about making (or buying) a helmet bag that zips closed. Make sure the zipper handlesare big enough to put a lock through (like a suitcase). Wouldn't stop someone with a knife but might stop theannoying, not-so-funnyjokes.

Buy a cable lock and lock the helmit through the frame/carshbar/wheel or whatever...

helmit will be on the ground but so what............ most likely it will be there when you get back and nobody will mess with it....

Always happy to see a new member posting. Can't help you with your helmet problem, I can lock up six 3/4 helmets in the trunk and panniers of my full dress Wing. But welcome anyway!

 Pick up on E-bay a rear luggage rack and trunk. While going to school put your books in it, and when your at school, stick your helmet in it. With the Honda rack, the trunk locks on and off, so you can take if off anytime to make your wing completely naked. With the trunk on, you're only partially clothed.

Sweet ideas thank you all. In response to the question what is the C2, is is a full helmet, but the front flips up so I can put it on while still wearing my eye glasses.
I will look into the locking trunk idea. Thanks again,
Lou

There's always the old cable, if it's a full faced hemet hook a cable through it and snap the cable ends together with a padlock around something secure on the bike.
