Hi all,
I am wondering is there is anyone in the Illawarra/Sydney area who can help with the following issues.
1. Update GPS SD card with current maps from Garmin direct rather than wait for HONDA to bring out the usual biannual update. Especially at the cost that HONDA wants to charge $300-400AUD opposed to Garmin's price of $180AUD for update SD cards. Why cant the maps be updated like all other Garmin products when maps are available and owners be able to purchase a life long update plan for $96AUD like I have done with a Garmin Zumo 220.
2. Purchase and fit a UHF CB radio into the bike and link it to the following.
3. Install and set up Blue tooth intercom set that is integrated to the CB and sound system.
Final issue
4. Set up a tow hitch for a trailer.
I hope that this is clear enough.
Cheers all.
I hope there are others in Australia that are in the same position (in relation to the SatNav) and other.

Bevo I have given up on proprietary GPS systems due to the update cost issue. I have been using a map app with my iPhone and ipad. The original cost was $59 for the Aust and NZ maps 4 years ago. I have just purchased the North American maps that include Canada and Mexico for $40 ad it is life time updates with the company that I used. If you integrate theses devices you can have cellular phone,GPS,music and video files and the Internet all through Bluetooth.

I have set up the UHF CB & Bluetooth into my GL1500 set up. I don't know how different the 1800 is. I have got advice from a dealer in Sydney who was most helpful with phone advice. I can give you the contact if you like

If you were 2000 km closer, I could show you :)
Hi,

I can't answer all your questions however you can get these headsets: http://www.mrmobile.net.au/sena-blu...uetooth-intercom-with-universal-mic-dual-pack
Also you can get one of these: http://www.mrmobile.net.au/sena-blu...eamer/sena-sm10-dual-stereo-bluetooth-adapter with a cable to suit Honda Goldwings from the same supplier. That will give you an integrated bluetooth intercom/communications system.
Sorry the adaptor should be the SR10 available from the same supplier to allow connection to the integrated CB.

Most new members don't realize that the Steve Saunders Goldwing Forum is much like an extended family and as such we like to get together on various occassions to renew old friendships and make new ones. For example, each year we put together a huge celebration called the North American Steve Saunders International Rally (NASSIR). Unfortunately you've just missed NASSIR 6 in Simcoe, Ontario however there is plenty of time to plan on attending NASSIR 7 which is being held in Fontana Dam, NC on July 8-10, 2014. If you want additional information please follow this lnk and it well take you to a dedicated information page for the event! Welcome aboard!!!
