When accellorating I have no problem, idleing no problem, but when I release the throttle as it slows down there is backfireing, if I pull in the clutch it stops. I have a owners manual but can't find anything on this. Any ideas?

Any way to fix it? Could the carb's be involved?

I'm pretty sure that bike has air cutoff valves( kind of a misnomer if you ask me) in the carbs like Goldwings do. If they are bad it will cause a too rich condition on decel and a backfire.

if you have aftermarket exhaust a fix would be to buy the jet kit that works with the exhaust system.
