I'm checking out this battery jumper from Frye's Electronics:

Will it be safe to use to jump an 1985 GL1200? I've been using a battery tamer since my stator isn't keeping my battery charged enough to do on long drives and then start when I get ready to leave. Very frustrating. I know my battery is 12V but just don't want to blow up the thingtrying to jump it with this.
