I have a 2006 1800 with the original battery and am looking to replace it. I'm wondering what people are buying and what kind of luck you've had.

AGM type batteries hold up better.

+1 on the AGM batteries.

And a higher voltage alternator to go with them helps even more. One example is the CompuFire model.

As everyone said "AGM" as that's what it came with so there's no vent tube for a regular battery.
The Odyssey battery is a religion with some people so I'll reserve comment on it.
One question though. Why are you looking to replace your battery as at six years old it should still have lots of life in it?

I put a motobatt in my Road King about 2 years ago, it was getting weak not dead a few months ago I emailed them with my info and they sent me a new one. Just saying.
