I picked up 2 of them at a H/F parking lot sale. Have had them for almost a year. 1 is always connected to one or the other of my wings. Whickever one I am not riding at the time. The other is on my boat. No problems at all. But I did forget to disconnect it from the bike once and rode away and broke the power wire. Fixed the wire and it still works great.
Thanks for the link - have one right now on my 1800 out in the garage, but at that price I just ordered a spare... Looked at the HF units but I prefer the one piece design of the Battery Tender, and I have used one of theirs for years without issue... I'll stay with that one...
Another satisfied HF tender user. I have a couple of them, had 'em for about six years now and they're still running. I put a 12V socket in the left front cubby in both my 1500 and my 1800 wired directly to the battery through a fuse. I stuck a 112v plug on the tender instead of the clips, that way all I have to do is to plug the tender into the socket and she's hooked up. No fooling around pulling off a battery cover. I'll do the same to the next 'Wing I buy. In the meantime my Silverwing now has a 12v socket in it's left hand glove box for tender connection.
I have SIX Deltran Battery Tender Jrs., one for each bike, and use them religiously. I have had them for several years, and have never had an issue. I do have several tools from Harbor Freight (no actual wrenches, sockets, or screwdrivers) that have held up very well. I have a jumpstarter pack that has been working for several years, and is still working. I also use it for a portable power supply. Their Chicago Electric tools seem to hold up well and have a reasonable price.
