Went to Ohio to get my New to Me GL1800 ABS Model, I named it Beavis. The tires looked questionable so I had a new set of Avon Cobras put on, after 500 miles, I am very impressed with them.

What a great Bike! These things were definitely made for the road because I cruised right along at 70 to 80 MPH and she could have done much more. The first part of my trip I took it easy on the bike to see what Gas Mileage could be achieved. I kept it between 45 and 65, but mostley in the 45 to 55 MPH range and got 48MPG. On the hilly highways of southern Ohio, W. Va and Va was when I steadily did 70 to 80 and still was ab;e to get almost 42 MPG. I would consider that great gas mileage, am very happy with it.

This thing was so comfortable that after a 500 mile trip home (that should have been 360 miles), My wife and I took Beavis on a long ride around the local roads to show it the areas of it's new home..........

Beavis seemed very happy!

:claps:........... you be careful with that thing, you'll poke your eye out.
Congrats John!
Glad you love the new ride and all is working out well.
Gee your moving right on up, 1200 to 1500 to 1800, Honda better have something new like a 2000 next year for you eh! LOL
Nice new ride John!!! I am absolutely SURE you will enjoy the 1800!!! Looking forward to seeing you at Hunt's in June!

I'll be there in June!!

This is an awesome bike. The more I ride it the more I like it. When I was looking for one, I was kinda leaning to the Orange colored ones, Red was second and yellow was third. This one is Illusion red. In the sun, it's that orange / copper color and in the shade it's red.

We rode a couple hundred miles yesterday on the Blue Ridge Parkway and it performed excellent! Big difference between the 1800 and the 1500, although I still love my 1500.

So how long did it take this time to get the tires replaced?

But seriously, congrats on a very nice looking bike. I'm jealous, just not jealous enough to trade in my 1500 yet....
Just a few hundred more miles and you could have shown that new bike to Kar650 and me at Moonshine.

I'll be there for diggerfest's unrally!!! You going to that? Or Tellico plains again right after that, It would be good to see you again.
Not sure if i can make them this year. I would want my wife to go along on a longer trip like that but she doesn't have enough vacation to make it this year.
