Hello from Virginia,
Welcome Aboard!!!!!
Glad to have you with us!

No problem at all. This forum was added to give new people a place to introduce themselves, and get the greetings out of the way without tying up the other areaswith tons of greetings messages. As you can see, there are many every day. So if we did the greetings in the technical forum or one of the others, either the regular topics would push the new member introductions down off the page right away, and they would be missed, or the new member greetings would push the regular topics off the page. Either way, it's better this way.
But lots of times people jump right in with a question, so their first validation post is really better off in the forum that fits that type of question.
So it's all good. We're just a bunch of guys and gals having fun. The organization helps keep things flowing smootly, but it's not always perfect in every case.
Again, welcome aboard.
