Still have that T-shirt. Now the next one is to be on a long trip and forget to turn the fuel on.
So that makes 4 Ts I have now;
Dropped the wing T-shirt
Forgot the kill switch off T-shirt
Driving down the road with the fuel off, (CB550) T-shirt
Hitting the choke leaver to on, (CB550), killing engine T-shirt

BTW, my engine turns over, with the kill switch off.

I guess I'm the only one that actually uses the kill switch.

I must admit that I too have done it enough times that I now have a mental checklist of what to look for if the bike ain't starting.

I have a buddy who had so many keys on his keyring that the vibes from a rough road would occasionally shut his bike off. That was a tough one to figure out.

Guity as charged. But ya gotta love the fix... zero dollars and 1/1000th of a sec. and you are back on the road. But it's always good that you find it before someone points it out to ya on the roadside!

I had the same issue at one of the local bike nights. Only I had an audience of Harley Riders watching me.

The next time I was at the same place I happened to watch this "Kid" walking down the rows looking at different bikes and also noticed that he flipped the kill switch to off on all the bikes he looked at.

When He approached my bike I offered to break his fingers for him if he touched my bike and then pointed him out to security.

But it was rather entertaining watching some of the people try to start there bikes that he had switched off.

I must be the only other one who still uses the kill switch when I stop and shut down. At least when I get ready to leave I always make sure that is in the "run" postion before I hit the start button.

I use it occasionally to make sure it works.

You can also kill it while letting the clutch out at a stoplight, drop it while moving it around the driveway and or kill it while putting the kickstand down and sitting there wondering what the.......... why did it die...........:cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::shock::shock:

Been there done that! When mine won't start that is the first thing I look at. Guess it is that way because thats how I was taught to shut down in my MSF Basic Rider class

Yep. Been there done that. What's really bad is when you do it while driving. If you don't pull in the clutch the motor keeps turning with no spark and keeps sucking in fuel for a while. If you then hit the switch back on you get a pretty impresive backfire. That's gotta be bad on something.....

I wore my battery down 2 times trying to get the Wing to start only to find out I left the fuel valve off as it set for the winter. Does that qualify for club membership?:baffled:

I found out that when you hit that darn switch at 70 and then flick it back on, you can just about blow both mufflers off with the backfire..........
