Is there any advantage to putting a car tire on the rear wheel.

I see alot of bikes with car tires on the rear wheel. I dont have to replace mine yet but sooner or later I will.

As you can tell this is a very hotly debated issue. It comes up a lot. Remember Darksiders, the people running car tires, have made that decision on their own.

I would suggest that you check about "suitable" tires, ones that can be mounted, and fit into the available space. Don't purchase it yet, just check availability! As you look, keep in mind that mc wheels may not be able to hold the bead seal as a car does.

Next do a search and read everything you can find or have time to read on the subject. You'll find that there is a lot of info on the subject. Once you have and understand all the info; facts, opinions, and suppositions, you can make the decision that is right for you.

I personally have NOT formed an opinion on the subject as for me it is a moot question. I know of no suitable modern car tires to put onto my GL1000.

Yeah, I am still going thru the previous thread on this subject! WOW some spirited debate. Guess the only to find out is try it and see for myself. Seeing as how I still have alot of tread left on the current tire I dont think I will have to replace it anytime soon.
