Thanks to Steve Saunders for the great You Tube video on bleeding the clutch, helped me to get it done.

My question is, at the start of the video he removes a small black reservoir to get to the slave cylinder bleeder valve, what is that reservoir for?

I belive the one you're refuring to is the "catch" for the crank case breather. Usually fills up with "water" and should be occasionally emptied. If you dump it, report back on if the fluid inside is acidic. This is a curiosity of mine after mine WAS acidic and the chemistry department at my college couldn't figure what is was or why it was produced.
