It was my first time skydiving and I told the instructor that I was nervous. "Well, that's certainly understandable. But look, see that guy over there? He's dived before and he's blind."

Well, that got me to feeling a little less nervous. But once my chute was packed and as I was boarding the plane I started to get butterflies again. So on the way up, I decided to talk to the blind man.

"I understand you've dived before. If you don't mind me asking, how does a blind person do it?"

"Well, it's not all that difficult, really. I am placed in the door and told when to jump. My hand is placed on my release ring for me, and out I go."

"But how do you know when you are going to land?" he was asked.

"I have a very keen sense of smell and I can smell the trees and grass when I am 300 feet from the ground," he answered.

"But how do you know when to lift your legs for the final arrival on the ground?" he was again asked.

He quickly answered "Oh, that's easy enough. The dog's leash goes slack."

A blind man walks into a shop and starts swinging his dog round by the lead.

A salesman rushes up, absolutely horrified and asks what he is doing. The blind man replies "Just having a look round!"
