I pulled the air filter only to find I have oil that appears to be coming from the left carb. Would this be a sign of needing the valves adjusted?? What else can cause it?? And if it is valves,,,,,, how much of a job is it???
I'm not really up to speed on 1500s but all the other models have a trap for oil that gets in the air cleaner from normal crankcase ventilation and it has to be emptied occasionally as part of maintenance. If it hasn't been emptied it can be overfull to the point of spilling oil back into the air cleaner.
The 2 drain tubes only produced about 1-2 ounce's. I've drained more then that in the past with no ill effects.
I had her running with the filter out, so I was able to pour a little Sea Foam straight into the carbs while running. Then I give it a good dose in the gas tank. So now I'm producing an excuse to make a run to Wal-Mart ,,,,,,,,, (and have to take the long way).
