Went for a ride along the BRP yesterday to see if there is any colors yet, we went about 150 miles to the south (Toward Asheville) and really nothing yet. Once in a while you get certain types of trees that are starting and then the occasional Maple tree with a few leafs that have changed. Other than that, just a sea of green everywhere.
I think mid October is going to be good for color.
I really wish they would fix the road however. The bridges are getting really bad with the bump up to get on the bridge and then the bump to get off. There is at least a 5 to 6 inch difference in road surface to bridge surface that really jolts ya when you hit them, and the road is really getting bad with pot holes. Unfortunately, whenever they do anything on the BRP it closes the roads for a long period of time due to the subsurface preparations.
It was a great ride though, but very little to no colors yet.
