Boots and bugs

Cruising the rural two lane highways the other evening I was getting peppered with bugs. Yellow Jackets, honey bees, butterflies, mosquitoes, and dragon flies. I thought nothing of it as this is very normal here, go for ride, wash bugs off bike. When I got home, the front of my boots were splattered with bug guts. Nice. I think we are getting a lot of hoppers this year. I'm glad I use a roper style riding boot with no laces for the bugs. It was an easy wash off. Just think, if I was riding with only socks on, I could have just tossed them in the wash. :D

Yuh, it was somewhere on US 2 in North Dakota where I got caught up in the worst locust swarm I have ever seen in my life (late '70s)!! Ruined the fork seals, packed the air horns full - wouldn't work anymore, ruined a few motel wash cloths trying to clean the windshield, fairing, mirror backs, boots, leathers, helmet, etc.

I remember wondering how you folks manage to breathe out there...:action:
