Hey guys I need to replace the brake pads on my bike and I am wondering what is the best type to use. There are standardd, semi metallic, organic, kevlar and sintered (extreme semi metallic long wearing). Any suggestions from experience would be greatly appreciated. I have a 1987 aspy.

I'm with Dennis. Dusty also recommends OEM. I've used EBC before with no problems - don't know what type though. The OEM seem to really last and don't cost that much.

The OEM pads from Western Honda are actually cheaper than most of the after market pads I've seen, and my experience has been that OEM will always last longer.

OEM. End of list. All others will fall short in some way.

OEM for sure, in my opinion and experience. I have used EBC and they seem to barely last one season for me.

As a result, although I use mostly aftermarket or auto (oil filter) parts when I can, I only use Honda OEM brake pads and am very happy with them - and uncharacteristically for Honda...........they are reasonably priced!

Cheers!
