I sure hoped you guys were putting us on and this was some kind of a sick joke.
Being a ex-dirt biker (enduro), I'm on the pegs all the time. Every bridge to get the kinks out and looksy at what the fishing might be and such. Every bump is programmed to transfer weight to the pegs before the bump just as I did years ago.
This issue is not an item of convenience it is a major safety issuewith us.
Many many thanks for the heads up. Not only are we going to inspect but improve. Oil or grease in this area is not good either as this will collect road grit and make a grinding compound and accelerate the wear.
Someone more knowledgeable than me must have the answer in a retrofit or aftermarketreplacement for the 1800.
Sure would like to see a close up picture of a peg worn in this area.
