Holy Moly. I regularly scrap my pegs in the mountains. Do you think this could be weakening them? :gunhead:

I was just browsing the forums and came across this thread. I've never heard of such a thing as breaking footpegs. I promptly went out to my 2007 GL1800 and stepped on the left foot peg. It immediately snapped off. I weigh about 185. My advice? Don't do it.

I am always standing up on the pegs while riding....
to get the kinks out of my knees and hips...

and I put my full 275# on them every time I get on or off the bike.

can you take a picture of the break for us please?
is it due to a prior collision with something, or metal fatigue?

Is the use of aluminum new on 1800s or should I worry about my 1500 pegs?

These things are pot metal, cheapest thing going, if they were made from aluminum they would hold up.

They are aluminum, I know, I broke one off on one of those center line reflectors on a left hand sweeper.
