I am getting ready to build a pull-behind trailer for my GoldWing. Has anyone built their own trailers? If so and you have pictures, I would like to see them. I am trying to get some ideas and have hit a stumbling point. Also, if you run into any problems, I would like to hear of them.

Have already been this route. I am planning on the H.F. trailer as you get everything for a very attractive price. I have a very large car top carrier that I got for free.

(If you go to Yahoo and then click ok groups, you can find local groups for your area. There is a hand-to-hand group in Wichita. I posted that I wanted a carrier and within about 2 hours, I had one free of charge.)

I found this picture. It is a car top carrier but they have built around the lower portion with diamond plate. Very nice looking and make a nice finished look instead of a carrier sitting on a trailer.

I was just wanting to see other ideas that other members might have dreamed up. I like being a little different and would like to get some ideas.

I've replied twice with my email address. Did you not get it? :stumped::stumped::stumped:

I'll send it once again and also PM you with it. Please let me know if you get it this time.

I am going to go shopping for a small light duty trailer....
Look at this:

I think it is the best deal going for a complete trailer.

Here is the same thing but with 12" wheels:

One of these and a chunk of aluminum diamond plate with the carrier would make a fairly good trailer.

I am going to get the 12" tire model but am going to make several modifications to it so that the trailer will have a more finished look. I am also looking at adding a small kennel to it so my Toy Chihuahua & my Miniature Dachshund have a place to ride.

Found this picture of a roof top carrier sitting on a trailer. It looks a lot like the H.F. trailer with 8" wheels.

I think that this trailer is much nicer looking as it looks "finished".

It would take a little more work to fab this one out but I think that it looks so much nicer. It is just like the other but has diamond plate added around edges to close everything up.

The other one looks exactly like what it is, a carrier bolted to a trailer.

What does everyone else think????

Paul,

I agree with you 100%. Good common sense is a necessity when pulling a trailer no matter if you are doing it with a semi, pick-up, car or a bike. Comon sense will tell you that your vehicle is going to be affected by pulling something behind it. You just have to be a little more careful and look further ahead than normal.

A motorcycle trailer is not made to carry a ton of crap. It is made to carry a fairly light load. The only time I will use it is if we go camping to carry a tent and supplies or go an a long trip to carry clothing.

I don't have to licensea trailer here! :clapper:

I disagree with you on that... The hard part is dodging all the flying toenail clippings. Them babies sting a little when thy hit ya in the forehead.

Well Goldwinger1984, got to test the limits of my brakes a little bit ago. I was on my way back home from a job interview and for some unknown reason, the car traveling in front of me all of a sudden jacked on the brakes and skidded to a stop. Needless to say, I did the same thing. My new EII's were really squalling. Don't know what the hell the person was thinking or doing but there was absolutely no reason to stop. Clear road, no stop lights for at least 4 more blocks, nocross traffic, no animals running into the road, just decided to test the brakes I guess. I was not "tailgating". There wasa good 4 to 5 car lengths between us. Bad part was, we were on a 2 lane road and there was approaching traffic so I could not use the other lane to go around.

I give the driver a good cussin' at the next intersection.

She just smiled at me and gave me one of these.:2finger:Some cage drivers just have absolutely no respect for others, especially motorcycle riders.
