Really make the effort to make it, Steve

These events really are a great time to 'rub elbows' and have a great time. Nothing really 'structured' about it all. You participate where/when you feel like. If you want to go riding, there are usually members with rides going on ... jump in on one if you wish, .... or hang back at the hotel/campground and 'Socialize' .... or not!

It is what you make it, but it is a good time. ;)

I just made my reservations and ordered dinner, so I am committed (or should be). I just got back on Saturday from a trip to Homer Alaska, 6150 miles. Had to replace front and rear tires and both tires on the trailer, the chip seal roads are really hard on the rubber. It is going to take me a week just to clean up the wing.

I have a lot of work to do so it will take me a while to get ready for this next camping trip. I took off on this last trip while in the middle of a kitchen remodel.....SWMBO has told me I have to get that done before the next trip. I am going to have to be really talented or develop some powers of persuasion in order to make it.

I will be camping in site 24. Since I will be alone this time, if someone needs to pitch a tent with me, they are welcome to do that. I have my wing and a cargo trailer. At present I have only made reservations for two nights, the 12th and 13th.

Too funny! As some of the folks here already know, I started a kitchen/great room remodel in December of 2009 (I even have all the new hardwood flooring sitting in a room waiting to be installed for over a year now!). I then got my wing in the spring of last year and everything else has taken a back seat!!! Although, I did make a promise to get it done before Thanksgiving but I can't remember if I said this year or next!!!!

:ROFL::readit::yelling::NO:

I'm over in site #18 so be sure to stop by!!!

John,

If they're willing to allow 4 tents on a site, will they allow 2 tent trailers on a site?
Does that mean you are no longer at site #8....... or......you want company in California?

I don't see why not. The tent trailers don't take up any more room than many of the tents. I don't know the answer to that for sure but I doubt it will be a problem.

There you go Kyle. Now you have no excuse. What are they going to say? "They're both from ManitoWHAT? Must be Kisssing Cousins from the south!"

There will be a couple of 'Hosers' hanging about the campground, although I won't get in until Tuesday afternoon at # 38, along with Winger

The Hag and I will be there as well although I forget the site number (Wrote it down somewheres...). Anywho, feel free to squeeze in as many as they'll allow. Just look for the teal green 1500 with the TimeOut camper and you'll find us. That is - if Dusty's grizzlies don't get us on the way there. He CLAIMS they're not a big deal but I've never camped in the Rockies before so WE'LL SEEEEEE..... lol.

There's still a lot of talk about sharing campsites and I want to make sure everyone remembers what Dusty posted about his conversation with one of the Park Rangers.

Per Dusty:

We will be allowed up to:

a maximum of 4 motorcycles per campsite ....However ... a motorcycle and trailer combo is/will be considered to be the same as a car and any other motorcycle on that campground is deemed as an extra vehicle and will be charged the $10 'extra vehicle' charge ... (maybe we could work it that the bike/trailer combo is the 'extra vehicle' and it is charged the extra $10 per night, thereby allowing more bikes per campsite at a lower cost???)

a maximum of 8 people per campsite

anynumber of tents
, as long as they all fit within the designated boundary of eachcampsite

Good point John. Monetary concerns are always worthy. And I'm no millionaire but I've been saving up for this trip and the campsite is already paid for. So any and all are welcome to squeeze in and I just hope the Park Rangers have a sense of humor. If not, well, maybe we can soften them up with a cold brewski or something.

The Griz ain't so bad Joe! More 'Blacks' around than Griz and they demand a health dose of respect, as well. Not saying that you won't run into Griz on your travels ...

This onewas a "Bigun" that was far up a hillside!

I'm far more .... 'cautious'.... of these which roam all over Yellowstone/Custer(including roads/campgrounds), are dumb as a rock and can attack whether provoked, or not! (maybe I've had too many bear encounters and bluff charges:baffling: )

No zoom needed forany of these shots. The one was so close I could smell his breath!

Yup .... bears demand respect for sure(I usually see 20-30/year in the back country), but those Bison are something you should not take for granted either!!!!!!

Mountain lions are at the top of my 'list'! Man, they are one slick predator! :coollep:

I'm right there with you QDaddy! I've got site #18 for Mon, Tue, Wed & Thu and as far as I know right now it is open to anyone that wants to snuggle into the site with us. As it turns out I may or may not be there on Thursday but it's paid for anyway so it will be open. I have my bike with a small trailer and a tent. It will all work out of course and it's going to be a great time at the campgrounds I'm sure!!!

Glad you brought that up, John!

Seems that Winger and I are pulling out on the Thursday(someone's got to work!) and I paid for the site until Friday morning. I am pretty sure Jim(Luddy) is staying at our campsite with Dave and I and we may have room for 1 more tent(if you can find a spot between the knitting needles, panties and aprons!), so if someone is looking for a spot to bed down, especially for an extra night(Thursday) come and set up on site 38!
