Hi, I'm a new Goldwing owner, and while it has been a long time time since I owned an Aspencade (1982), I am wondering about the paint on a 1996 Aspencade. The lower panels on the bike are a magenta color, while the upper fiberglass above the engine is Candy Apple Red. I have a feeling the bike has been in a wreck at sometime, but, not sure. Magenta is part of the Candy Red color and perhaps Honda didn't want to put the very expensive red paint on the bottom panels? Thanks in ad

Hello and welcome to the forum.
The previous owner could have painted them darker as they didn't want gray. 馃

Magenta color on the lower panels is stock up until 1998 I believe. From 1998 through 2000, the lower panels were the same color as the upper panels.

Hm. The lower panels on my '93 Candy Spectre Red Aspy are light grey. PO did a lot of things to the bike, though...

Looks like there is more to the story that I did not include.
It depends on the base color of the bike as to what color the Front Lower Cowl and Engine Side Covers are.
You will have to look at the Color Table in the parts books to figure out what color was stock on your particular year Gold Wing; whether it was an Interstate, Aspencade or an SE.
Here are three of the part numbers with the associated color codes for the Front Lower Cowl:
64300-MN5-000YB COWL, FR. PB269P - A'96 (Pearl Sparkling Blue)
64300-MN5-000ZY COWL, FR. RP151P - A / SE '96 (Pearl royal Magenta)
64300-MN5-000YA COWL, FR. G156P - ALL '96 (Pearl Sierra Green)

It looks like the right and left Engine Side Covers had the same coloration as the Front Lower Cowl.

I hope this helps.
