What is the best way to set the mix/pilot screws on a 1500(not balance)

as I have just rebuilt my carbs .The Manuel says to use a taco/rev counter but most of these fit to the coils. which can't be reached with the air box on.Any idea's

There are induction tachs out there - kind of pricey, though. They read the spark sent to a plug the same way that timing lights do. The device will need to be told of goldwing's firing with each revolution or you'll have to halve the count to be accurate.

I would be tempted to just listen, though. You can hear a climb of 50 revs.

The 1500 is easy enough to do. As Jack says, you can hear the difference easily. I´ve done mine just using the bikes tach, accurate enough for my taste.

Guy in the States give me a setting of 3.5 turns out and it's spot on.

Glen, the gl1500 is a forgiving beast. You could probably set between 2.5 & 4 turns and never notice a difference. Great bike. :waving:
