catalitic(sp) converter

There is a "pre-muffler" box, but there is no catalytic converter, as far as know.. I've seen modifications that add a trap door affair to open it and have seen it removed.. but don't know about "gutting it.."

Ok my mistake Ithought it was a converter This is the first 1500 I have owned . Iwas just trying to get a little more noise out of it. I had to gut my converter on my kawasaki 1500 . A friend took off his pre muffler a put in an adapter but it cost alittle over $300.00 I was trying to a little less expensive way
