Here's the deal. I've mounted a car style Cobra cb in my left pocket for now until I can get one of the 2 Clarion cb units I have repaired. The rear optional speaker output is 8 ohms, so therefore you can't use the speaker output to input to the distribution box on a Clarion 2 system without getting a loud squeal through the headsets.

Anyone know how to step down the ohms output from 8 ohms to 4 ohms? I'm gonna Google this also while I'm waiting for a response on here.

I was hoping you'd jump in here on this one. Maybe Rudy'll have some input also.

Something like this? I guess for going into the distribution box all I'd need to use for the wattage would be the 5 watt line.

Uh no....

You will connect the output of the radio to the 0 & 8 ohm tap, and the speaker to the 0 & 4 ohm tap.

The other leads are all "70 volt" high impedance connections. tape every one of them off, and do NOT use any of them.

IF there is a problem with direct current causing a problem, you can put a capacitor in series with the lead from the CB radio. Something on the order of 470 uFd would do for voice. More for music, which has a lot of low frequencies.

The size of the capacitor will determine how low a frequency you could hear through the speakers.

So, I wouldn't use the watts side at all? In effect it'll be just a pass through with ohms stepped down?

What I'm looking for is a way for the external speaker output(8 ohms) to input to the distribution box of the Clarion 2 system using an adapater cable I already have so I can hear the cb through the headsets. I already have an external speaker hooked to the cb output which I want to eliminate.
