It's going to look like an old condenser from the point days or a sqare puck with a wire coming out. Looking for a pic now....

It depends on which filter you are talking about. On the GL1500, there are 3: 1 for the alternator, 1 for the fuel pump and 1 for the air pump.



This is the alternator one.



This is the air pump one.



And here is the fuel filter one. It appears that all of them are still available from Sierra:
