I would like to install a cb radio on my 05 1800 so when I ride with a G/wing club down herewe cantalk whilst riding. I have a couple of questions that someone out there might have the answers to.

1) Can anyone please suggest where to puchase one of these units.

2) Do I only need to purchase the radio and aerial as the bike has the cb controls fitted on the handle bars orare there more parts to purchase.

3)I assume installation will be a simple matter of plugging in the radio to one of the several unused plugs under the seat or will I need to start splicing wires as in the saddlebag light saga.

Regards to you all,

John, many have tried but noneare yetsuccessful. :shock:The only CB that fits and works with the controls is the Honda one. You can make a hand held fit but not to use the bike controls. The honda one is only 27 mhz (AM) so you need to check whether or not the guys use UHF or AM

You can get the best deal on the CB and aerial at http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/stores/byProduct.asp?prd=CB%2FRadio+Acc%2E&str=4&ID=363203341
You don't need to get anything but the CB unit and aerial.
You get instructions on how to install the CB.No splicing any wires
You will have to remove the seat and the shelter.
Hope this helps. bloodbought1

If you pruchase a used CB radio make damn sure you get the three filters that go with it because no one and I repeat no one sells those filters. I am in the middle of installing my CB in my 02 and I am following the tutorial of steves. It is accurate but he assumes that you know how to remove alot if things. Like the grills for the speakers, they were simple once I did it and unplugging some of the wires without being able to see them when they have lock tabs on them and I didn't have a clue what kind of tabs. Anyway I got mine tore down in about five hours and have installed the CB. I can just visualize the fun putting it back.

By the way I'm waiting for a garmin 2710 to come in so that I can hardwire it in with it do you know how to do that? or know anyone who does?
