As far as where to post, next time create a new topic, at top right of the forum section, rather than tagging on an old post(this was from 2009). We'll give you grace as you are new here.
A lot of companies are not putting in glue anymore to get you to pay for glue now. Ask before you pay for them. They might throw it in to get a sale.
Did you buy them local or online?
As Dusty said they should fit tight. Be sure to get them listed for a 1500 wing. Those may be for an 1800 which have 1" bars.

Dusty, just to clarify,
So just soapy water, no glue right?
Or just hairspray.

In the past I have used brake cleaner or contact cleaner.
