is it necessary to remove the left saddlebag to change these pads ? what is the easiest way to do this ? i have a lift , will just raising the bike lift it high enough to expose the caliper ?

The easiest way is to remove the saddlebag. Or if you can wait until the rear tire needs to be replaced it's most convenient then.

I'd take off the left bag - it's soooo much easier when everything is out in the open...
