Ok, the clutch started to slip, so i order all the friction plates, steel plates and springs. Whoa, what do you mean I need a special tool to remove the nut? Huh? They don't make that item any more? CRAP!!!:headbanger::headbanger::headbanger::headbanger::headbanger::headbanger::headbanger:

So, does anyone know where I can get ahold of one of these puppies?

Just need a Motion Pro 08-0015 clutch socket. Or you can make your own. It's been discussed here a few dozen times. It's in the Index over on the right side of the page.

Thanks. I found that after I posted. A local dealer told me that they were no longer made. It should be here by friday. I just wish i had looked farther into the book before i ordered everything. I would have included that as well.

I paid $16 for bearing, which I used to take pack apart several times..
Let me know if you need part #.
I went to bearing store with Wing manual and gave measurements of needed tool.
I used socket to make nut removal tool like somebody suggested here.

Ok, I ordered the clutch spanner from motion pro. The dealer I went to for it was able to get in a day. I just tried it along with a few suggestions here. I dropped the trans into first and held the brake. The nut broke loose!!!!! The spanner fits a bit snug, but it does work, even though Motion pro says it for the 75-77 gl1000. Best $11.00 I ever spent!!! Not I have to make a gasket for the clutch cover, change the plates, put it all back together and get riding. But I go on vacation tomorrow and there's to many things to do today to work on the bike, so she'll ave to sit for week.

I had to take my socket and file the tangs down a tad with a file. It's your socket, modify it if you need to!

Well, I got the clutch changed. Man what difference!!! She grabs just about 1 inch off the grip. And I have the correct amount of free play. Also swapped out the rusty piece of crap MAC mufflers for a set of Jardines. I'm glad I got those. They sound great and look awesome!!!

Thanks for all the advise.
