Before puttingnew Tulsa belly pan on tomorrow, wish to clean 8+ yrs. accumulation of crud/oxidation from engine case bottom. Where I worked before retiring, we used full strength Simple Green alkali cleanerw/good brusing onaluminum surfaces to, literally, bleach them clean. Just wished to learn what othershave used successfully onengine case bottoms, to git the job done. TTFN & RIDE SAFE.....Old Tom :waving:

I just did mine a couple of weeks ago, probably not good for health, but I use Lacquer Thinner on a rag or two or three, whatever it takes. I'm not trying to eat off it, just clean it.

I would say simple green would work just fine, we use that at work for cleaning new steel that still has oil on it form the steel yards.

I think simple green would do it.
Just use it straight if its real bad.
Can paint it on with a disposable brush and it will held you clean too.
Good luck

Tom, I just checked out Simple Green's site and found no listing for Simple Green alkali cleaner. Which product is it that you used? Thanks Angela.:clapper::clapper:

SORRY ANGELA!
Simple Green is just known publicly as Simple Green all-purpose cleaner; should be available at most auto parts/hardware stores, in quart trigger spray bottle and larger. It IS an alklai cleaner[ph: 9.5]!Based this onMSDS for same[was in charge of entire factory MSDS file(among other jobs)atformer employer]. Hope this helps.....Old Tom

Purple Power is my 1st choice, next would be Simple Green and scrubbing with a toilet brush, preferably 1 that has not been in the commode. Apply, scrub, rinse, andrepeat as needed
