In the K2 models, does coil leads can be replaced separetly or do they come in one piece? Mine (coils) are 30 years old but still live and kicking (I believe).Leads areworn-out producing glued particles where they attach to the spark plug pipes. That makes a electricalfailure at low rpm's coughing up to 2k-3k revs.If a pipeclean up is made she gets better 3-4 days at the most. Then again a clean up is needed. Any advice is appreciatedto know what to do to replace leads, if it is possible.

Hello SHREK and thanks for the reply. The answer isleads to the plugs from the coils. Right. I believe the material (rubber) is worn-out because the aging.Again the question is it (coil & leads) comes separetly.I would like to replace them (just leads)without buying coils (cheaper). Remember isa 76K2 model.Advise is welcome. Thanks.

I cut about 1/4-inch from the leads and replaced the caps with new ones. The wires are just braided copper and should last quite a while. The resistors in the plug caps, however, wear out after several years.

Sparkplug wires? Also check your caps! They are not too bad to replace. At least on the 1100. You simply unscrew the plug wire caps from the coils, and replace with a new wire cut to length. I get my wire from:

I was always under the impression that the wires on the GL1000 model were not meant to separate like the 1100 and 1200. But are a permanent part of the coils.

The wires and caps can be had cheaply enough. NGK makes an identical replacement boot with the proper 5K ohms of resistance.

Finally I bought the NGK (Brasilians) boots and failure ceased. Cost: USD 16,74 X4.

Happy again.

Leads (wires/cables) comes along with coils and to replace them a work is needed.

Thanks a lot.:)
