Coils-----more info----more questions!!!!!

I took the info from a previous post regarding coils re: ohms ect and called Dyna again. Evidently the DC1-1 coils at 3 ohms does not work as a replacement for the stock coils with the electronic ignition. Called mother Honda and OEM coils are not available any longer. I have issues about "used " coils ( I am in counselling ) and cannot bring myself to put 27 year old parts in as replacements. Options----someone in "Wing cyber-world" has already worked out this problem, or------Throw away the Wing and start over with a Harley!!! Just kidding------Anyone With thots???

Is the coil for 80-81 OK for an 82? I thought there was a diff in resistance somewhere.

No, not the same.. 82 and 83 have low reisistance primary (0.5 ohm) and nearly impossible to find new... lots of people selling the 3 ohm (or 3.5 ohm) version used in 80-81 and they call it good for all GL1100.. it is not... There are lots of bikes and cars out there that use the low resistance (0.5 ohm)dual output coils so I am sure that with enough looking you could find something that would work even if the brackets were wrong.. I was looking at the dyna DC111 and it looks like it is the right spec... and comes in pairs.. just need someone as a guinea pig...

EDIT: HERE is a seller and below is a pic.. just need to cough (choke.. choke) up $150
