I've just purchased an '82 GL1100 Aspencade. It is a sort of green colour.

Does anyone know if this was a factory color?

I'm pretty sure it isn't I think the only colors for the Aspencade in 82 were Grey on Silver and Brown on Gold. I bought a new one in 82 mine was I think they called it Cadillac Grey on Mercedes Silver. Are you sure it's a Aspencade.

It says Aspencade on it & it has the air pump with the pressure gauge on the false tank.

I'll know for sure when I pick it up tomorrow.

If that is not a factory color, it should have been. Looks pretty nice.

You can tell it's not a factory job, since the pin striping on the fairing and front fender are not factory done, but by someone with a roll of tape.

Definitely not a factory color

I believe a few were actually done in a green, they were built for export to Africa.

It looks like a fatory job but I have never seen one in that color. It's kind of pretty.

I wouldn't know about it's being a factory color or not but I think it looks really good.

got this from a site on the internet.
http://www.dallas.net/~jsides/gwdisc.html
1982 GL-1100 Standard - Wineberry Red, Black or Metallic Black (retail $4248)
1982 GL-1100 Interstate - Metallic Black (only) (retail $5448)
1982 GL-1100 Aspencade - Metallic Brown two-tone or Metallic Silver two-tone (retail $5698)
For '82, Honda adds a third model to the GL line, the even more luxurious Aspencade. The Interstate model offers such options as a new Type II stereo, a 40-channel CB transceiver, and an on-board air compressor. All of these items are standard on the Aspencade, as are storage pouches in the passanger back-rest, two-tone paint and seat, a removeable trunk, saddlebag liners for ease of unpacking, and special-edition Aspencade badges. All models also sport twin-piston brake calipers and wider tires..

Good post Roy. That was/seemed like a lot of money back then for a motorcycle.

Thank you all for your input.

It would appear to have been resprayed & the gold liner added.

Whoever did it seems to have done a reasonable enough job & I like the colour.

Thanks for the info royak. I was searching around older stuff and came across this thread.

It makes me wonder about my 82 Interstate though. My Dad bought it new. It's an Interstate no doubt, and it's definately an 82,but it's the purty Wineberry.Of course it's in the eye of the beholder, but I always thought this was the best looking stock color on a Goldwing. The Chrome and Wineberry look great together. I don't know why Honda dosn't offer this color anymore. It would look great on an 1800, now that you can see the motor again.
