Just a final note on my 1980 1100. Did the upgrade and it was plug and play. Might have 5-600 miles on the upgraded coil pack and can say that it was a good change, no ballast resistor like the OEM set was. I have used the V6 stock plug boots that are a little hokey looking but I am not sure if the NGK aftermarket one are OK to use. All I know is my bike is running pretty good right now. Not a rocket but a nice surge when you give it a twist.
