Couple of issues with a GL1100

Hi everyone.

Just looking for some advice here.

I have a Slipstreamer windscreen. It's higher than standard and I think that's my issue. I'm 6ft and I get some horrible buffeting from it. Is there anything I can do apart from shrink or cut the screen down, or can someone recommend a replacement screen which will fix this issue?

Also, my Clarion 1 radio seems to have a little issue. When I'm stationary it works fine, but as soon as I start moving it seems to amplify each bump in the road. Is there a loose connection somewhere or am I looking for a new radio?

Oh, one last thing. I changed the bulbs on my rev counter and now it is really slow. It doesn't seem to be registering the revs properly. Am I looking at another counter or do you think it's the cable?

Screens can be hard to get right. I'm a bit taller and find a screen at eye height works best for me.
On the tach, you could have damaged the cable when you changed the bulbs. Have you already checked the cable is seated properly?

I checked the seating and it seemed right. I think I'll just go ahead and replace it.

I'll see about getting the screen cut down slightly. You know what the wind is like here in the North East! I'll take a couple of inches off, see how that works,

If you get some wind deflectors for the faring, that will help a lot...

hi RINGOSS mate, i too found buffering with the taller screen i had on my gl1100 aspencade. i too thought it would be a good idea to cut a couple of inches off. NOOOOO, dont do it mate. it alters the whole airflow of it. i totaly ruined mine lol. i phoned D&K near STOKE ON TRENT and they had a couple of "normal" length screens in secondhand. i got one and apart from one or two tiny blemishes its lovely £20 +p&p. real bargain. try um mate. mines brill now. :waving:
