Just talked to CJ. The heat has taken its toll and they had to stop for the night in Lebanon, TN. They are about 2 hours away but after 400+ miles today they had to pack it in. They will be in Knoxville approx. 10 A.M. tomorrow morning, and I'm sure they are looking forward to NOT riding for awhile. Stay tuned, I'm sure CJ and Red will have plenty to share with us all.

Thanks for the report, glad to hear they are ok. I'm sure the way the weather has been for them, that they are worn to a frazzle. But I bet they won't admit to it:cool:

Thanks for the report. Glad they're OK.

Sometimes you just don't feel like going on - the day wears on ya. And othertimes you can ride twice as far but don't want to drop a reservation and pay a fee. Rides always change up - "go with the flow" always seems best to me. I been learning that more and more with arthritis setting in - of all places - in my tailbone! Ouch.

They buzzed across pretty well given the conditions. Go CJ and RED!!!!

Good to hear they are still traveling safe. A bit tired I'm sure. I hope they set up somewhere for a bit just to relax and not be running all the time.

We have the perfect place if they will just relax a couple of days. Then we could ride if they are up to it.

Hi, Everybody!

Well, we made it and are safely tucked away under the "wing" of Bernie and Lois's kind hospitality! And we are glad to be here!

Washington, Oregon, Idaho, a slice of Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Missouri, a slice of Kentucky, and finally, beautiful Tennessee! 2,790 miles, ten states, a hundred or soT-Storms :cheeky1:.... wind, rain, sun, hail, cold, heat..... Damn, did we have fun!

It took us one week and a half day.... little longer than I thought..... we averaged a little over 300 miles a day, but I think we could have picked up seventy or so with a better healed arm and better weather -- but the weather ain't my department! Bernie had good weather here waiting , though......

With one bad arm, a great bike, and the most beautiful Redhead to ever tug up a pair of kevlar jeans, and a couple of good friends along the way -- Well, it was easy!

Red loves the car, we're gonna hang with Bernie and Lois until Monday when we can do the wire transfer, and then we'll head up the Blue Ridge Pkwy maybe..... gotta be in Memphis Thursday next.

Depending upon the weather of course!

Those of you in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and other places on the Blue Ridge, we'll call if we get close! Thanks again for all your interest and support!

Love,

Mel and Sandy (CJ and Red AKA Wet and Bedraggled!)

I knew you two would make it, and very glad you did. Looks like you may get the sunny weather you deserve for the trek home.

I beleive Red earned that sweet little car after all she went through to get there.

Still hoping for a face to face. If you're in Memphis next Thursday then you're less than 2 hours from my place. Have plenty of room for your tent or a comfy bed, good shower & lots of A/C. Will be hoping for a call next week, Andy.

We'll be there in Memphis, Lopeha, Thursday or Friday, but we are going to spend several days with my brother and his family during the fourth...... when we leave we'll probably head straight into Arkansas -- and we will give you a call......
