I seem to be hogging this space :p.

My cruise control wont set at anything above 80 KM/h. I believe the upper limit should be around 120 KM/h. Can anyone enlighten mas to how it can be adjusted? If I actively set it at 120 KM/h, the speed will fall back to 80KM/h and then kick in. Very frustrating on an open highway. The clymer manual suggests taking it to a specialised Honda repair center. I think not!

hi aft there is some many things that can cause this prob one beening in the left fan housing there is a rubber gromet remove this and shine a light in the hole you will see a marker on the trottle linkage make sure the arrow lines up with the slot in the carb this is ajusted by peeling back the rubber sleeve on the acuator so what happens there may be too much play in the cable that holds the trottle open

Is your model one made for the Japanese market? In Japan, the highways had a speed limit of 80kph back in the 90's so all GL1500s in Japan have a limiter.I have the same problem as I live in Japan, but I bought a used module off of ebay and swapped it out.

Welcome to the Forum; Best place to share anything Goldwing.

I lived on Okinawa for five years and couldn't register anything over 1000cc, of course was not a lot of places to go anyway.

I am fairly new here, but don't believe I have seen another member in Japan. So keep coming back.

There are a few members in Japan but most have only posted once or twice at most? They are known for being quiet people. Not a bad quality.

Looking at the other members from Japan, it appears they are almost all Japanese which might explain their silence. Not a lot of Goldwings out here due to the small roads and the fact that GWs are imported which means they cost dearly. My 99 1500 SE cost about $12,000 USD used (34,000kms). I rode an ST1100 fro 15 years and finally traded it in as my daughter's ballet outfits would not fit in the panniers. I think the Goldwing has been my best decision bike-wise yet.

I think I'm going to need to do this cruise control mod. Since I replaced the E3 with the new Goodyear Assurion C/T, I can't get the cruise to set faster than 72 mph.

Is this as easy as it sounds? remove seat- open wire box- switch 2 wires - assemble and enjoy?
Plus make sure the cable adjustment is set correctly and all lube points taken care of.

Try riding under 75 in my area = Get run over!
